This genuine Yamaha top-mount single-lever control box uses Yamaha’s Digital Network System to manage throttle and gear selection electronically.
This delivers smooth, precise control without the friction associated with traditional mechanical cables. On multi-engine setups, the system can automatically synchronise engine RPM for a more consistent driving experience.
Its plug-and-play design also simplifies installation and rigging.
Key Features:
- Start/Stop: Start or stop all connected engines using a single button.
- Station Transfer: Switch between control stations at the touch of a button, where supported.
- Neutral Hold: Increase engine RPM without engaging forward or reverse gear.
- Trim Assist: Automatically adjusts engine trim during acceleration and deceleration to help optimise performance and fuel efficiency. Five preset trim profiles can be configured according to specific RPM or boat-speed settings.
Adjustable Lever Friction: Customise the resistance of the control lever and the feel of the gear-shift detents to suit individual preferences.
Speed Control: Once the desired engine RPM or boat speed has been reached using the control lever, the speed-up and speed-down buttons allow convenient adjustments at the touch of a button. These controls are positioned on the port-side lever for easy access when using Single Lever mode.
Customisable LED Illumination: Choose from nine LED colours: Blue, Sky Blue, Mint, Green, Yellow, Red, Sakura, Purple or White.
Helm Master EX Compatibility and Installation
The Yamaha Helm Master EX control system combines ergonomic design with advanced functionality. It is available in single-handle and twin-handle configurations, supporting installations with two, three or four engines.
Both configurations share a common control base, helping maintain consistency and simplify installation across different models. The system uses a single wiring connection to communicate with one or more remotely mounted electronic control units (ECUs), with one ECU assigned to each engine.
For installations requiring a second control station, no additional ECUs are needed. This reduces installation complexity and helps make under-console wiring and secondary station setups more straightforward.
Important Compatibility Note:
The POWER switch on the latest DEC control is not functional in dual-station installations. The POWER and START/STOP switches are also incompatible with 6DR and 6X6 switch configurations.
