The Quicksilver Premium Gear Lube provides the proper corrosion protection and lubrication needs of marine gear cases not found in automotive-based oil. This gear lube provides maximum protection against water intrusion and wear. It is recommended to change the gear lube at least once every year, or every 100 hours of operation, whichever occurs first.
The protection this provides against water intrusion is due to advanced emulsifiers within that prevent foaming, which protects gears if water enters the gear housing. The protection against wear is due to tackifiers and extreme pressure additives that are in the Quicksilver Premium Gear Lube, which are designed to improve oil film adhesion and protect against excessive wear.
